A former doctor accused of killing two people and an unborn child was in court Thursday, trying to get his bail reduced.
Mark Benson's bail was set at a million dollars. The judge refused the request, stating he believed Benson was a flight risk.
Mark Benson is charged with driving under the influence of prescription drugs. He was involved in a crash that claimed the lives of 39-year-old Jennifer Bukosky, her 10-year-old daughter Courtney Bella, and Bukosky's unborn daughter last April.
Judy and Paul Jenkins, Bukosky's parents, are fighting to strengthen laws related to driving under the influence.
"We need the help of all Wisconsin citizens and the way to do that is for them to contact their state legislators and demand change," Paul Jenkins said.
Benson faces six counts, among them is driving while under the influence of a number of prescription drugs and operating without a license.
