Relatives of Jennifer Bukosky continue their plea for harsher punishments for intoxicated drivers. Bukosky was killed along with her daughter and unborn baby when Mark Benson smashed into their car. Benson is charged with being high on prescription drugs at the time.
Bukosky's family held a town hall meeting at Oconomowoc High School where they talked about the importance of cracking down on dangerous drivers. Bukosky's husband, Michael Bukosky, thinks that from this tragedy can come some much needed education on the importance of cracking down on dangerous drivers.
"Things have gotten worse," Michael Bukosky said. "It's harder to understand. you have more time to understand and you just can't."
Legislators say if the law changes it will likely include immediate jail time for third-time drunk drivers and the ability for authorities to take away the driver's car.
