Judge Raises Benson's Bail

WAUKESHA - A judge in Waukesha County has raised Mark Benson's bail to $1-million. Benson is the man accused of killing Oconomowoc Associate Principal Jennifer Bukosky, her daughter Courtney Bella and her unborn daughter. Authorities say he was high on drugs at the time.

Benson sat in jail following the crash when the judge initially set his bail at a million dollars. Benson posted bail last month after the judge lowered it to $500,000.

Earlier this month, authorities arrested Benson after they found him with unauthorized prescription drugs and weapons. Both were a violation of Benson's bail.

Because the judge has now frozen the initial $500,000 Benson posted, he would now have to post $1.15-million to get out of jail while he awaits trial.
