Bail cut in half for former doctor accused in fatal drunken driving crash

WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) - Bail has been reduced in Waukesha County for a former surgeon accused of killing a pregnant woman and her daughter in a drunken driving crash.

A judge Thursday granted a motion from Mark Benson's attorney to modify bail, cutting the $1 million bond in half.

Benson's attorney, Dean Strang, says he doesn't know whether Benson will be able to post the $500,000 bail.

The 56-year-old Benson is accused in a crash last April that killed 39-year-old Jennifer Bukosky, her unborn child and her 10-year-old daughter, Courtney Bella. Two other children were injured.

Bukosky was a school administrator in Oconomowoc.
